Tim Kring Apologizes for Heroes: Save the Season, Save the World!

Tim Kring seems to do a lot of apologizng for his show. How about sticking to your guns, man?! Don't cave so easily! Stand up for your vision! Unless of course that vision is Heroes:Season 2 and then yeah, well I think an apology is overdue.

It's hard to count the ways that this season has just down right sucked. There are so many. Thankfully Entertainment Weekly does a good job at listing the big ones for us: the pacing is slow, the romances are weak, the newbie heroes feel like they are from a different show, and well everything is just all over the place.

I personally can't get into the storylines this year. Virus? It's been done so many times... how is this going to trump a nuclear explosion in NYC? I think the real danger is that New York has been overrun with terrible plotlines. Let's see the heroes save us from that!

There's the weak 'Hiro in ancient Japan with a British Samuari' storyline, the cheeseball romances that even Kring admits are lame and was Peter REALLY caputured by a bunch of Irish iPod thieves?!

According to EW's article, things are on the up. So we'll see - I'll stick it out... hell, there's not much else on Monday nights and LOST may not come back until for over a year with this strike.

Kristen Bell to Appear on Heroes (featuring her Maxim Pictures from 2006)

The story over at Variety is that Kristen Bell has been cast as a character named Elle on the upcoming 2nd season of Heroes. Bell was apparently also offered a role on LOST but turned it down(?!) and she may take a turn as Elle Woods on Broadway in Legally Blonde: the Musical. Busy, busy!

You may have seen Kristen in last year's Pulse or on Deadwood but she appears to be most famous for Veronica Mars. Kristen's Maxim pictures above are from the March 2006 issue.

Hayden Panettiere See Thru Pic

Hot off my last blog about Heroes, I found this picture of Hayden Panettiere wearing a see-thru top. It deserved to be blogged...

I'm not quite sure where this photo is from if anyone knows, please feel free to comment. the pic on the left looks like Lohan...

Interestingly IMdB shows Hayden as having been working since 1968! Check it out...

They need to check their listings better.

Hayden Panettiere and Heroes Returns TONIGHT!!

Haden Panettiere and Heroes return tonight at 9pm eastern time and I gotta say, despite the sometimes weak plots and filler episodes I'm pretty excited. The show has gotten so much better - if it wasn't for Hayden and Hiro I would have stopped watching after the first episode.

Ali Larter does a great job with her far out character as well - I'm surious as to where they are going with her. I thought she was headed for straight villiany but it seems they pulled back on that a bit.

Heroes Season 2 is also garunteed and creator Tim Kring has stated that there will be a whole new storyline and new characters next year. Some of the favorites will be back of course, but over all it will be very different.

Kring said in an interview. “Volume One comes to a conclusion at the end of episode 23, and Volume Two starts with the opening of season two. And Volume Two is a different story.”

Kring added: “We could have new people and new storylines and new ideas and new threats and new bad guys and new heroes. So I would prepare the audience for that idea, that it’s not just a continuing serialized storyline about only these people. It’s a little more the 24 model than the Lost model.” [source]

I'm glad the creators are not just going for a LOST rip-off and they are actually trying to do something different.

I do happen to hate the marketing for this show though... they pose one liner questions that they don't answer.. even in the episodes that promise the answers (like Save The Cheerleader, Save The World). So I wonder...

Will we finally get an answer to WHY saving this cheerleader would save the world?
