Cinematical is reporting that David Duchovny has mentioned the X-Files sequel as being close to final negotiations. It's been almost 10 years since the first movie and the general consensus among fans is that the show ripped them off...Duchovny isn't a stupid person. Of course he's going to throw out some answer when asked about X Files 2. It generates some press and keeps people talking about him. I doubt anyone has seriously discussed this sequel at the industry level in a long, long time. He's blowing steam knowing the press will run with it and they do... everytime.
The best X-Files episodes IMO were the ones that didn't further the Mythology along. I would watch a reboot of the show if they stayed away from the drawn out mythology stuff and stuck to a great sci-fi, each episode is it's own story' kind of deal.
They could even bring Scully (Gillian Anderson) back...
